Photo extractions in Photoshop reach a new level when you bring Channels and the Pen Tool into your workflow.

Session 1: Channels and Color Modes

First, you will explore one of the most powerful — and most overlooked — areas of Photoshop for photo extractions. Channels give you a level of control over masking that other tools simply cannot match. In this session, you will learn:

• How to use Color Modes to create selections and extractions
• The difference between RGB and CMYK color modes — and why it matters for your work
• What Channels are and why they are so useful in creating clean, precise masks

• How to mix Channels for better, more refined results

Session 2: The Pen Tool

Then, you will move into the Pen Tool — the most precise selection method available in Photoshop, and one that opens up a whole new level of control over your photo extractions. Moreover, once you understand how Paths work, your approach to complex shapes will change entirely. This session covers:

• How to use the Pen Tool to create clean, precise extractions
• Mastering both the Freeform and Curvature Pen Tools
• Understanding Paths — how to create them, close them, and work with them effectively
• Creating and adjusting Curves for the most accurate selections possible
• How to add, delete, and convert Anchor Points with confidence
• Creating your own custom shapes from Vector Masks
